Results of the Executive Committee Election

Weirton, West Virginia-The Independent Steelworkers Union has completed its election process following the tallying of votes today for position on the Executive Committee.

According to Union Office Manager Jim Andreozzi, the counting of the mail-in ballots today by the Wallace & Padden Accounting firm was completed without any problems.

"We have a very good system in place that allows our members to vote by mail-in ballot," Andreozzi explained. The election saw only three contested seats for the 10 member Executive Committee.

Larry Swiger was re-elected Chairman of the Salary Non-Exempt and Professional Unit. He ran unopposed and received 195 votes.

Harden "Buddy" Camilletti and Charles "Butch" Delaney were unopposed in their respective races in the Strip Steel Division. Camilletti received 253 votes for Chairman and Delaney garnered 246 votes for Vice-Chairman/Secretary.

In the Sheet Mill Division, Mark Roach was re-elected Chairman with 75 complimentary votes.

Tin Mill Chairman Ed 'Ike" Eisnaugle won re-election without opposition. Eisnaugle received 277 votes.

In the race for Tin Mill Vice-Chairman/Secretary between incumbent Enzo Fracasso and challenger Keith Misselwitz, the declared winner was Keith Misselwitz by a 228 to 187 vote margin.

Steel Works 1 Division incumbent Chairman Dave Gossett and challenger Bob Hoover squared off with Bob Hoover winning the chairmanship by a 200 to 133 margin.

Steel Works 1 Division Vice-Chairman/Secretary Ron Dodd won re-election without opposition receiving 256 votes.

Steel Works 2 Division incumbent Chairman Mike Vitello faced a challenge from Jim Riggle. The winner was Mike Vitello who picked up 308 votes as compared to Jim Riggle with 283 votes.

Steel Works 2 Division Vice-Chairman/Secretary Alan Scheetz did not have any opposition and received 499 complimentary votes.

According to Andreozzi, the new union steward term will begin August 6th when the Executive Committee will meet to organize for the next three years.
