I.S.U. Run-off Election Results
Weirton, WV 26062 The Independent Steelworkers Union has completed a series of run-off elections for stewards.
According to Union Hall Office Manager Jim Andreozzi, the run-off election results were posted today.
In Steel Works No. 1 Division, Dept. No. 34 results show David Gossett defeating Henry William "Bill" Frank by a 70 to 54 margin.
There were three run-off elections in Steel Works No. 2 Division.
The results from Dept. 15 have Kenneth Waggle besting Rhonda Jennings by a 71 to 61 vote count.
Dept. 23 pitted incumbent Sam Gaudio against challenger Jim Riggle. Jim Riggle was the winner by a 70 to 50 vote.
In Dept. 2, it was two newcomers in the run-off. And it was John "Joe" Brynza the declared winner over Robert Fabian by a vote count of 43 to 34.
Department 7 in the Tin Mill pitted incumbent steward Enzo Fracasso against former steward James Shaffer. Fracasso won the race with 52 to 43 vote count.
The Tin Mill also saw two newcomers in the Dept. 8 race. Keith Misselwitz beat Joe Gurrera by a 85 to 40 vote tally.
In another Tin Mill run-off election featuring two newcomers it was Dave Burskey over Randy Tassey by a 63 to 42 margin to win Dept. 11.
And in the Strip Steel, Dept. 3, newcomer Steven Kile beat newcomer Dave McVicker by a vote count of 44 to 37.
The only run-off in the Salary Non-Exempt Division was finalized when Bob Lewis beat Craig Smogor by a 96 to 65 count.
The next step in the Union Election process will begin June 19 through June 23, 2000, when sign-ups occur for the Executive Committee position. The election for Executive Committee will begin July 1st.
The mail-in votes for the Executive Committee races will be counted July 11, 2000.
The new steward office term begins August 6th.
